Seniors and Parent/Guardian of seniors

With the many restrictions upon us, we will not be able to host a FAFSA night at the school as we have in the past. This year we will host the FAFSA night virtually on Tuesday October 20th at 6:00 pm. A link will be sent to each senior’s Schoology account the day before. We encourage all seniors and parents to attend the Teams meeting to learn how to file the FAFSA. During the meeting, you will be able to ask questions on chat or private messages about special circumstance situations regarding household and income. Find out about state deadlines and application processes for state funding. To complete the FAFSA you and your parent will need an FSA ID (Federal Student Aid), a username and password that enables you to log in to some Department of Education websites.

Important note: A link with step by step instructions to complete the FSA ID has been sent to your student’s Schoology account. Please set up separate FSA ID accounts for student and parent. If you already have already created a FSA ID in the past you must use the same account.

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is required to attend most colleges. It serves as the application for most of the financial aid from federal and state programs and from colleges and universities. Even if you are not sure that you will need financial aid, we recommend that you fill out a FAFSA anyway -- it's free.

When you file the 2021-22 FAFSA, you will use what the U.S. Department of Education calls the Prior Prior Year (PPY) for income information. This means that you will use your parent’s 2019 income information to complete the 2021-22 FAFSA.

Please contact your counselor Louise Smith or Josh Glass if you have any questions.
